I have always been fascinated with human neuroanatomy and how physiological structure gives rise to cognitive function. Having a background in clinical lingusitics, I am interested in investigating the brain’s response to injuries such as stroke and tumours and, in particular, their functional consequences for language and cognition.

My PhD project aims at exploring the ability of the right hemisphere, typically non-dominant for language, to support retrieval of linguistic information after left-hemispheric stroke. Using EEG and MEG, we will investigate the spatio-temporal characteristics of language production at (sub)acute and chronic stages of recovery. Furthermore, we will look at the organisation of the language network post stroke using resting state MEG functional connectivity measures.
